- "Widow, was a commoner, 1641."
Widow, a commoner at Ipswich in 1641: "LORD, Katherine, widow. Was a commoner, 1641" (Hammatt p. 208). Felt says Robert Lord "appears to have been son of Widow Catharine Lord."
The 1603 will of John Lorde of Redriffe, clothier, mentions "two houses in Sudbury," a "father Anthony Lorde" and a "brother Robert Lorde" (Essex Institute Historical Collections 17:73). That brother Robert could be Katherine's husband, which would bring the family from Sudbury, Suffolk, and make Anthony the grandfather of Robert of Ipswich. This is not proved.
