Mother of Joseph Cumins. She was a daughter of John Kendall of Dunstable, Massachusetts, and Hannah Whittemore (source), and married Jerahmeel Cummings in 1771; they lived at Amherst, New Hampshire, and then at Windsor, Vermont, and had eleven children. Mooar's Cummings Memorial was not sure she was John and Hannah's daughter, but noted the clue that points to it: "In a notice of the Hon. Amos Kendall, it is mentioned that in 1807 he visited his Aunt Cummings in Windsor, Vt., who had two sons, who took their cousin up Ascutney mountain" (source). Amos Kendall's own account calls her husband "a Mr. Cummings who married a sister of his father," and his father Zebedee was the son of "John the second," of Dunstable (source). WikiTree has the same family, with Deborah between her sisters Hannah (1749) and Relief (1753) and before her brother Zebedee (1755) (source).
Her nephew Amos Kendall (1789-1869), later Postmaster General under Andrew Jackson, visited the family at Windsor as a Dartmouth student and climbed Mount Ascutney with two of her sons (see Jerahmeel Cummings).
