Died six days before him, aged 67. Paine (1946) calls her Ruth Chester; not checked.

Daniel Cole, a brother of Job, settled first at Yarmouth and moved in 1643 to Eastham, where he was the first town clerk and the town's representative in 1652 "and six yrs. more" (source). The Eastham records list "Daniell Cole his Children": John, 15 July 1644; Timothy, 15 Sept 1646; Hephzibah, 15 Apr 1649; Ruth, 15 Apr 1651; Israel, 8 June 1653; and James, 30 Nov 1655 (record). Mary followed in 1659, who married Joshua Hopkins in 1681, and William in 1663 (Savage). His land at Satucket and at the Bass Pond bordered lots of Nicholas Snow, whose daughter Ruth married his son John (record), and he held lands in what became Harwich, which John passed to his own son Joseph in 1714/15 (record).

King Philip's War. His son Timothy, twenty-nine when the war began, probably served. In 1733, when the Eastham men of the war were rewarded with land at Narragansett Township No. 7 (Gorham, Maine), the list has "Timothy Cole for his father Timothy" and, beside him, "Jona. Grew for his father-in-law, Daniel Cole" (Soldiers in King Philip's War, p. 439). That soldier may have been Daniel himself, sixty-one in 1675, or the younger "Daniell Cole, Junir" of Eastham (Records of the Colony of New Plymouth 8:145).

He died at Eastham on 21 Dec 1694, aged 80; his wife Ruth had died six days before, "aged only 67" (Savage). He was the great-great-grandfather of Sarah (Cole) Holdershaw.

Research: Cape Cod ancestry of Hope Holdershaw and Hannah Brown.
