Father of Maj. Amos Walbridge. The second son of Henry Wallbridge and Anna Amos of Preston, he married in 1719 Theodia Porter of Hadley, and they lived first at Norwich, where the church baptized their first daughter in 1722 (the record calls his wife "Deborah," an error the genealogy notes) and where in 1724 they were admitted to the Newent (Lisbon) church. In 1729 they sold their Norwich land, and after some years at Canterbury, Amos, "Senr., recorded as of Canterbury," bought land at Stafford in 1735: two fifty-acre lots for £500 and a house and forty-five acres for £240. On 13 Oct 1737 the Connecticut Assembly "do establish and confirm Mr. Amos Wallbridge to be Ensign of the co. or train band in the town of Stafford," and he was still "Ensign Ames Wallbridge" in the church records when he died (source).

Theodia died of smallpox in December 1760. He lived on to 27 Feb 1788, a few weeks short of ninety-five, and his son Amos, the Major, outlived him by only five years. Their children were Deborah (1722), Theodia (1725, died an infant), Amos (1727), William (1730), Theodia (1733, Mrs. James Blodgett), two Henrys (1735, died young, and 1738) and Abigail (1741) (source).
