- note
- Hoyt, from the Newbury record, as "Anne"; Davis as Agnes. Mollie Pfeiffer has Aug 5.
Wife of John Wheeler, married at Salisbury, Wiltshire, 11 Dec 1611 (Davis, The Ancestry of Annis Spear III:604-606, as reported by Seaver). Hoyt calls her only "Anne [surname blank]"; the surname Yeoman and the 1611 marriage come from Davis. Mollie Pfeiffer (pp. 174-181) made her "Ann Salisbury, sister of William," of the Salusburys of Lleweni and kin to Mrs. Piozzi; there is no basis for it, and NEHGR 33:101, which Mollie cites, is a general query that does not mention Wheeler.
