The proprietors' book of Narragansett No. 1 (Buxton, Maine), one of the seven townships the Massachusetts General Court granted in 1733 to the soldiers of the Narragansett war of 1675-76 and their heirs. It gives each lot drawn "on the Right of" a soldier, and usually says how the claimant was kin ("Philemon Dane on the Right of his father Philemon Dane").
Cited for King Philip's War (research/king-philips-war/): "Jonathan Low on the Right of Thomas Low ...
14" (first division) and "Johnathan Low on the Right of Thomas Low ... 5," with a lot "Drawn on the
Original Right of Thomas Low by Joseph Atkinson & Joshua Coffin"; no relation between Jonathan and
Thomas is stated. Also "Emerson Cogswell on the Right of Edward Cogswell." Bodge prints the same grantee
as "Low, Thomas ... Jon[a]. Low" (p. 415).
