Seen on Ancestry, 9 Oct 2026, and reported in outline. Its owner, a descendant of Orlando Hines Clifford, Jessie (Clifford) Holbrook's brother, posted the image of Dan Lowe Holbrook's GenForum post of 1998 ("Richard 'RB' Holbrook, Pollock South Dakota 1923," GenForum Holbrook board, posted by Dan Holbrook, 21 April 1998). Its owner has been contacted.
It gives Daniel Philip Holbrook, son of Richard B. Holbrook Jr. and Jessie Clifford, married to Erma Evans, born 10 Feb 1909 at Healdsburg, California, died 25 May 1993 at Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County, California, and their sons:
- Philip T. Holbrook;
- John F. Holbrook;
- Dan Lowe Holbrook, the writer of the GenForum post;
- Richard Clay Holbrook, born 25 Jan 1938 at Sacramento, California, died 5 Feb 2016.
Its own sources are not recorded here. The research files have Phil married to Alice Catherine Duffy at San Francisco in 1929, which this tree does not mention.
Corrected, 9 Oct 2026. Kathy Jonas, the tree's owner, replied
(message-kathy-jonas-2026): Dan Lowe Holbrook was the son of Daniel Phillips Holbrook and Alice
Duffy, not Erma Evans, and she believes he wrote the GenForum post. Her tree also holds Maud
Noel, the Morilon boys and what became of them, with photographs of Maud and two men, neither of
whom she thinks is Richard. She does not think Maud and Richard married, and found no divorce of
Richard and Jessie in the newspapers or the divorce records. The trees described in
Ancestry member tree with Maude Elizabeth Noel (1888-1986) as a wife of Richard Blackmer Holbrook (very probably Kathy Jonas's tree "Clifford-Dole") and Ancestry member tree with John Randolph Morilon (1882-1954) and his family (Kathy Jonas's tree "Clifford-Dole") are, or are very probably,
this same tree.
