A compiled account of the Weymouth and Scituate Holbrooks. Gives Capt. William Holbrook's wife as Elizabeth Pitts, calls Capt. John's daughter who married Joseph Nash Grace (Weaver and Davis say Elizabeth), and differs from the Scituate VR on the birth month of Experience, daughter of John (b. c. 1650). Of the ten children of John Holbrook (b. 1686) and Sarah Chittenden: John the eldest "removed to Maine," and "most of the others settled at Eastham and Wellfleet."

For King Philip's War (research/king-philips-war/), pp. 330-332: of Capt. John Holbrook, "He arrived at Concord, June 22, 1676, with a company of thirty men from Old Norfolk, a county then embracing the territory north of the Merrimack" (p. 331). Old Norfolk men cannot be Holbrook's company, drawn from the Suffolk towns from Boston to Hingham; Vinton very probably attached another officer's letter to him. Holbrook's own letter reports his muster at Concord on 29 Apr 1676 (Bodge, pp. 280-281).
