John Hull's own diaries, printed with notes. Hull was captain of a Boston company in 1675 (Bodge p. 473) and Treasurer-at-War from 1675 to 1678: his journal of credits to the soldiers is the source of the pay lists Bodge prints, so a credit date there is the day Hull settled the account, not the day of service. As an Assistant (from May 1680, MBR 5:265) he married John Stanwood and Lydia at Boston on 9 Dec 1680 (Bolton, p. 32).
Cited for King Philip's War (research/king-philips-war/): "21st. Medefeild in part burned" (p. 241);
the Boston fire of 27 Nov 1676, which "consumed about fifty dwelling-houses and the North Meeting-house"
(p. 242); his letter of 29 Apr 1676 counting "about fifty" slain at Sudbury (in a note to pp. 240-242);
and, before the war, "April 20 [1675]. A man found dead near Brantrey," a Virginian.
