Sketch of David M. Bruner, druggist, born in Knox County, Illinois, 22 July 1846, son of Hickman Bruner, a native of Kentucky. The family went to Indiana in 1852, Putnam County, Missouri, in 1856, Kansas in 1857 (where the father took up a claim), then Mercer County, and at last Arkansas, "where both parents died." The research treats the identification with Eli's father as probable, not proven.
