Read 10 Oct 2026. Duff Pattullo's Yukon years, 1897-1908. After a fire inquiry rebuked him as a Dawson alderman in 1905, "This stinging rebuke did not put Pattullo in his place. Not only did he continue to believe he had done no wrong..."; his fights with Commissioner Congdon gave "added meaning to his assertion in later life that he had never knowingly double-crossed anyone." The minister wrote that he had been "a very exemplary official" though "irregularities in his personal habits" had made difficulties.
See Thomas Dufferin Pattullo and Duff Pattullo, 22nd Premier of British Columbia: what did he get right, and what did he get wrong?.
