- note
- A daughter of Vincent Hollingsworth; "Mrs. Stephen (Winny) Reed" is in the published list of his daughters drawn from The Holly Tree.
Not the younger Stephen who married Nancy Powell in 1827 (Stephen Reed). He is probably the older of the two Stephen Reids in Clay County in 1830 (aged 40-50, an all-white household) [?], and was in Clay County with his wife and children in 1850.
His children, per WikiTree: James, Larkin, Wiley, Martha Patsy (married a Hollingsworth), Elizabeth (married a Drew), Sarah (married a Hollingsworth), Claiborn and John William. Some online trees give him a second wife named Nancy Powell; the two separate Stephens of 1830 argue against that.
Open questions
- His 1850 Clay County entry (FamilySearch M6P1-2RP): Winnifred's age and birthplace and the children's ages.
- Vincent Hollingsworth's 1816 estate record: which Reeds are among the heirs.
