Of Plymouth. The Harlow Old Fort House passed to him from his father in the 1692 division. By his first wife Priscilla he had Rebekah (1678); by his second wife Hannah, John (1685), Hannah (1689), Samuel (1690), William (26 July 1692), Eliazer (1694) and Priscilla (1695).

The town chose him a constable on 19 May 1690 (Plymouth Town Records 1:201). Later he served as grand juror, tithingman, surveyor of highways, fence viewer and measurer of boards and timber, and was one of the men who counted the blackbirds' and crows' heads each household owed the town. In 1696/7 the town granted him "the swampy land by the highway Joyning to his spring" (1:248). On 21 Feb 1708/9 it granted his son John eighty feet square at the end of "his fathers land to build an house," provided that "his father Samuel Harlow leave out of fence for a publick Road yt knowl of land from his Spring to his shop" (2:22-23; record).

Mollie Pfeiffer's statement that he and Hannah "both died on the same day, March 22, 1734/5" is not supported: the Plymouth record leaves both death dates blank, and the date probably belongs to the next line in the book (Mary Morton). He was dead by 1728.
