Mary, a daughter of Nicholas Ide, was born at Rehoboth in 1649 and married Samuel Fuller there on 17 Apr 1673 (see Nicholas Ide).

Three years later King Philip's War burned Rehoboth, and in the months after, her husband was buried "the 15th of August, 1676," one of some twenty burials in the town in the second half of that year (Vital Record of Rehoboth, p. 900). Her mother was buried that November and her brother John in December. At the courts of 7 June and 3 July 1677 administration on "the estate of Samuell Fuller, of Rehoboth, deceased" went to Robert Fuller, "Nicholas Iyde, Senir" and Mary Fuller, probably she, his widow (Records of the Colony of New Plymouth 5:234, 237).

Open questions

  • Whether Samuel Fuller was the "Leiftenant Samuell Fuller" named with Capt. Michael Pierce in the commission of 29 Feb 1675/6 (PCR 5:187).
  • Her later life, and whether she remarried.
