Came to New England with her husband about 1638, when he is at Hartford.

Wife of Reinold Marvin; her maiden name is not known. They married at Great Bentley, Essex, in 1617 or 1618, and St. Mary's register records the baptisms of their children as "Reonold and Marye," "Raynold and Marye" and "Renold Meruin and of Marie his wyffe": William (4 Nov 1618), Elizabeth (1621), Marye (1622), John (buried 16 March 1626), Elisabeth (29 Apr 1627, who married William Waller), Sara (22 July 1629), Reinald (20 Dec 1631), Abigail (4 May 1634) and Mary (23 Oct 1636, who married Ens. Samuel Collins of Middletown). At least three died in England. She came to New England with her husband about 1638 and died at Lyme in the summer of 1661.

"Her death was attributed to 'witchcraft.'" At a Quarter Court held at Hartford on 5 Sept 1661, Nicholas Jennings and his wife Margaret, of Saybrook, were indicted for "having enterteined familiarity with Sathan ... and by his help done works aboue ye course of nature, to ye loss of ye liues of seueral psons, and in particuler ye wife of Reynold Marvin .... with other sorceries." The jury did not agree: "a 'majority found them guilty, and the rest found strong ground for suspicion.'" There had been "Suspitions about Witchery" at Saybrook since about 1657. In March 1662/3 the Court refused to pay the Saybrook constables for their witnesses, "nor to any other upon such accounts for ye future" (source).

Her husband's will of 1662 left "my wiues waring cloaths and linnen belonging to her" to their daughter Mary.

Research: Notable connections of Patricia Hatten (1940-2009): the paternal Hatten line.
