Brother of Lt. Matthias Ellis. In July 1679 "Mannoah Ellis, and Mary, his wife, of Sandwich, for fornication before his marriage," were fined £5 (PCR 8:154). The "Mary Burgess" that Freeman and Davis gave as Matthias's wife probably drifted over from Manoah's wife.
