George Panian's father: a quarter-holder (¼ Hübler), a smallholder of Altenmarkt (Stari trg) no. 29. When he married Maria Mihelič on 12 February 1849 he was 21 and already a widower; his first wife is not known. The death register says he bled to death from a wound ("Verblutung in Folge erlittener ...wunde"), aged 29, leaving three children, among them five-year-old George (source). His widow married Michael Perše, who brought up the boy.
