- summary
- Probably the second wife of Capt. John Holbrook of Weymouth, married about 1645, and by the dates probably the mother of his children born 1646-1662, though only possibly of John Holbrook (c. 1650-1731). Her mother was probably Elizabeth Stream, a widow who later became the second wife of John Otis. She probably died in 1688, aged 64.

Second wife of Capt. John Holbrook of Weymouth, married about 1645. Mother, by the dates, of his children born 1646-1662, among them John (b. c. 1650).
The Otis Genealogy (1924, pp. 41-42) says John Otis's second wife, Elizabeth Streame, was a widow "with two children, Thomas and Benjamin Streame." It quotes the Suffolk court of 1 July 1662: "power of administration of the estate of the late Thomas Streame of Weymouth, granted to Ottis, his mother, in behalf of her self and children" (NEHGR 11:173). It names no daughter Elizabeth (compiled).
The Weymouth land book (c. 1644) has "Eyght acres in the East ffield first granted to Widow Streame," and in 1651/2 "Widow Streame" drew a great lot beside John Holbrook (Nash pp. 257, 282-283). A Thomas Streame also held land there, so the Streams were Weymouth neighbours of the Holbrooks.
Open questions
- Her father, and the Streams' origin, are not yet researched.
- A record that names her as the widow Stream's daughter: the Otis Genealogy knows only the sons Thomas and Benjamin.
- Her death record (25 June 1688, aged 64) is still to be attached.
