Mother of George William Frost, the banker. She was born in April 1830 at Jewett, in the Catskills of Greene County, New York, the daughter of Richard C. Fairchild and Nancy Woodworth, and probably a granddaughter of Jonathan Fairchild, who built the first tannery in Greene County. On 27 May 1849, at Windham, she married Stephen George Frost, who had left home in his thirteenth year for Coxsackie and New York City (source).

They went west to Wisconsin. In 1850 she was in her father's house at La Grange, Walworth County, with Stephen and their baby, George William (record), and they stayed at La Grange through the 1850s, while Stephen served as town clerk of Sugar Creek and then chairman of its board; Irving was born about 1852 and Frances Ruth about 1857. In 1866 the family moved on to Iowa, to Monticello and then Harlan, where Stephen was a lumber dealer, and in 1883 to California, to Cloverdale, where George was a banker and his daughter Florence was born in 1885.

She died at Cloverdale on 6 May 1889, aged fifty-nine; her obituary is indexed in the Santa Cruz Daily Surf of 10 May 1889 (record). That year Stephen went on to Washington, where he lived out his life with George at Spokane.
